In Great Britain they drink tea as a break from the work day. In the Middle East tea is served as a welcoming gesture to guests. In Japan the Tea Ceremony is highly ritualized cultural production. One drink has an enormous place in the lives of millions of people. To look at our world through tea is to see our differences as well as the similarities that bind us.
I have distant memories on sharing tea, both in my childhood's dream imagination and in my interaction with those around me. In Iran light tea concoctions are even given to young babies to soothe colic. As a musician, mum and tea lover, I find that what I learn from my experience with tea goes beyond the tea itself. It somehow binds me to my purpose and a true nature that is beyond me, yet so much a part of who I am becoming. For me pouring tea is about many things, compassion and non-doing in everyday activity are central. Never an end to my curiosity about leaves and water, and never a true answer about what makes a perfect cup, just a simple and endless pursuit. I hope I can inspire you with my joy in the simplicity of this universal beverage! Contact me for event enquiries and pricing information.
