kafka Pony is a collaborative quartet featuring the compositions of guitarist Mastaneh Nazarian. Kafka Pony’s music is developed through songs that play with tensions between a multi perspective view on love’s journey; a play that unfolds in a the collaboration between the composed and the improvised. But mostly, Kafka Pony doesn’t take itself too seriously. In the end, there is a fun logic to having the privilege to share a good groovy jam over a dark, odd meter. Featuring luscious vocals by Rosie Luby, superlative drumming by Julia Bebenek, and bassist Chris Frangou’s solid musicality, Kafka pony’s material is driven by a multi-stylistic interest in compositional explorations and improvisational adventures.
