What is the Alexander Technique?

Alexander Technique provides you with the skills to exercise dynamic choice in activity and to rediscover ease.

An integrating practice, the Alexander Technique helps to bring more ease in the activities of every day living, by bringing awareness to habits of posture and movement.

Lack of connection between mind and body in daily activities can take the form of physical discomfort such as back pain, overuse syndromes or excess tension, or emotionally as mood disorders, poor sense of self or performance anxiety.

The learning framework

I use dialogue and gentle touch to guide you through everyday activities such as sitting, standing and walking. The process will bring better awareness to habitual ways of going about everyday activities that may be the cause of discomfort.
By taking a constructive and playful attitude towards looking at movement and thinking we can learn to balance patterns of tension helping to improve performance in a variety of fields of activity. With time you will learn to take the awareness that is gained through performing simple activities during the lesson into your daily life. Rediscover Ease Alexander Technique offers individual lessons as well as a variety of group workshops. Lessons are progressive and structured to your individual needs.

As a very practical and integrative modality, Alexander Technique also has many practical applications. The skills can be practiced in all aspects of daily life whether it be lifting, sitting, running, walking, playing music or parenting.
